Loub Obsession

A night out on the town these days  is not complete unless you are sporting a pair of Louboutin heels, women all over the world are breaking their bank accounts and backs (cough cough) just to set their hands on a pair of CLs. What is this insatiable need to own these red sole beauties?
Christian Louboutin opened up his own store in the early 90’s. Although he had been designing shoes a lot longer that, for companies like Channel and Yves Saint Laurent. His manifesto is “I wanted to create something that broke all the rules and made women feel confident and empowered” I think it is safe to say he has accomplished that and a lot more. Now I understand that these shoes are deffo a part of fashion history and will be talked about decades from now, but why is everyone  Louboutin crazy. I thought fashion had evolved so much so that we made up our own rules and there was less of a conformist attitude towards what is considered Fashion!!!! It’s almost like if you are not seen rocking your own pair of  Louboutin heels, you aren’t part of the fashionista elite. You might as well stay home from the party if you ain’t in one of Mr Christians designs.
Now don’t get me wrong I do believe the shoes are absolutely exquisite and I really do understand why they sell for £2000 a pop, I am a proud owner myself however that’s only because I have a sister with very expensive taste and best of all she loves to spoil me…. But you have ladies going to all kinds of lengths trying to own these shoes, there was a story in the SUN newspaper that talked about women hitting up B&Q just to buy red paint so they could paint the soles of their shoes red. FFS!!!!! (I mean that’s keeping up with the jones gone all the way crazy.  That article had me laughing so much, the things we do just to feel like we belong!!) Amazing.
After watching an interview with Mr Louboutin, he stated that the fabulous Tina Turner was the first celebrity to actually put their celebrity stamp on the shoes, even celebrities are crazy about them. You have people like the Kardashian sisters who are like a walking billboard Ad to A list celebs like Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker. Its clear that there are some of us who truly love the shoes but do not have the finically luxury to buy a pair or 3 all willy nilly, but there are website where you can rent a pair for a fee and you can wear them for your big day or if you just want to look at them in the comfort of your home lol websites like cinderella-me.co.uk. At least it will stop ladies from compromising their interity and doing down right retarded things like using paint to turn their soles red.

  1. Great post yo…u can’t really blame girls for breaking the bank for these amazing shoes tho, i think CLs brand perception is just as high as Apples as far as luxury products are concerned. You don’t really need them but u have to get them anyway…:D
